Wines direct from the Samuel Billaud estate - Les Grands Terroirs
92+/100 Parker
Tasting by William Kelley: “The Chablis 1er Cru Fourneaux 2022 shows particularly well, opening in the glass with notes of crisp stone fruit, white flowers, oyster shell and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated palate, with excellent core depth, racy acids and a saline finish.”
Cellaring : Aboire from 2025 to 2040
Domaine Samuel Billaud's Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourneaux is an exceptional white wine made from Chardonnay, the only grape variety authorized for the Chablis Premier Cru appellation. This climate, located on the right bank of the Serein, is distinguished by its south/southeast exposure, which favors excellent grape ripeness.
This racy white wine should be enjoyed at a temperature of 10 to 12°C, after decanting to reveal all its finesse. It goes perfectly with scallops, noble fish, creamy poultry and mature hard cheeses. Thanks to its balance between freshness and structure, Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourneaux can be kept for 8 to 12 years, or even longer in good conditions. Domaine Samuel Billaud works its vines organically, enabling the wine to fully express the identity of its terroir, with remarkable purity and precision in the expression of the Les Fourneaux climate.
