Tasting: The Patchwork Chardonnay was produced with a blend of grapes grown 60% on clay soils and the remaining 40% on limestone soils, and was aged in barrel for one year. The vines are over 25 years old, and the wine is very clean and delineated and balanced, expressive and with a chalky/reductive feel. It is fresh but ripe and finishes dry, long and tasty, with a chalky feel.
