AOC Pomerol
Château Trotanoy is a wine estate located in Pomerol. It extends over 14 hectares of vineyard and produces this illustrious vintage wine to the tune of about 48,000 bottles per year. The Château Trotanoy was acquired in 1953 by Établissements Jean-Pierre MOUEIX, which has been the manager since then. Wine lovers have made this wine the viceroy of Pomerol - it thus steals the show from Vieux Château Certan. There are many explanations. First of all, they have to do with the terroir: half of it is composed of gravelly and clayey soil, which gives the wine a perfect balance between strength and elegance. Secondly, the exposure of the vineyard, which spared it from the frost of 1956, which forced many other estates to replant. Here, the age of the vines makes the difference. Finally, the last key to the mystery: the harvests carried out in the afternoon, like in Petrus, and traditional vinification in new oak barrels.
The exceptional wines of the Château Trotanoy are available for purchase on Comptoir des Millésimes.
