Tasted by Neal Martin in 2017: "Tasted at the Trotanoy vertical in Hong Kong, the 2009 Trotanoy has long been one of the standout Pomerols in what has been a fertile year for the appellation. This bottle confirmed previous reviews, though the aromas were perhaps a little more immediate with blackberry, roasted chestnut and truffles, just a touch of glycerin, all delivered with fabulous precision. The oak is more assimilated on the palate which is as succulent as ever. But, if you look a little further, you'll see a real backbone hidden by all that fruit, as well as an impressive persistence on the finish that simply lacerates the mouth. Stunning! "
