Gewürztraminer Altenburg 2015 - Weinbach Estate
The wooden boxes sold on the site are not adapted to the format of the bottles
Altenburg is situated between 220 and 300 m above sea level, on a gentle slope, just below the boundary of the Grand Cru Furstentum.
Its soils are marly-calcareous sandstone, comparable to those of Furstentum, with a higher proportion of sand and a slightly earlier ripening. Altenbourg favours great ripeness and produces very beautiful Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer.
The deep, clay-limestone soils of this Kientzheim hill are recognised geologically and empirically as being very favourable to Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer.
The lowest part of this hillside gives birth to the Gewurztraminer Cuvée Laurence.
