Pinot Gris 2022 Clos des Capucins - Domaine Weinbach
Presentation: The historic estate covers 5 hectares, protected by the walls of the former Capuchin convent. It is mentioned as early as 890, the year in which the Empress Richarde donated it to the Abbey of Etival, which in turn detached part of it to the Capuchin monks at the beginning of the 17th century.
Terroir : The Clos is situated at the bottom of the slope, well protected from the wind by the surrounding hills. Its soils are sandy-loam on gravel and granite pebbles. This terroir benefits from rapid warming of the soil thanks to the pebbles on its surface. It produces wines that mature slightly earlier than the other terroirs.
Grape varieties: The vines of the Domaine planted in the Clos and its immediate surroundings of the same nature include all the grape varieties. They give birth in particular to Riesling Cuvée Théo, Pinot Gris Clos des Capucins, Gewurztraminer Cuvée Théo and Pinot Noir Clos des Capucins.
