Chablis 1er Cru 2014 - William Fevre
From the estate
Domaine William Fèvre's Chablis Premier Cru is a white Burgundy wine renowned for its elegance and finesse. William Fèvre is one of the most renowned producers in Chablis, a region renowned for its Chardonnay wines that are distinguished by their freshness, minerality and purity. The estate, founded in 1959, has a wide range of vineyards, some of which are classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru, offering a diversity of terroirs.
Key characteristics
William Fèvre's Chablis Premier Cru is often described as a complex wine, with a beautiful balance between lively acidity and silky texture. It presents aromas of fresh fruit such as green apple, lemon, and floral notes that blend with a marked minerality, a signature of the region's limestone and Kimmeridgian soils. With age, this wine can develop more complex aromas, including notes of honey, dried fruit and subtle touches of butter.
Vinification and Terroir
The estate attaches particular importance to respecting the environment and the vine, using sustainable agricultural practices. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the vinification seeks to preserve the purity and expression of the terroir. Depending on the vintage and the plots, the wines can be aged in stainless steel vats for a pure expression or in oak barrels to bring a subtle roundness without masking the mineral aromas.
