Description : From a distance, the Grand Cru du Goldert seems almost too discreet. In fact, it is not one of the most 'visible' of Alsace's crus. Its exposure towards the east and its low slope do not give a dramatic aspect to this cru. For me, it is a Grand Cru of the 'Bourguignon' type, because the exposure and the slope are not important, but it is really its soil, its pure limestone soil which makes Goldert a very beautiful terroir. Thanks to its late climate, which is not very conducive to the development of early rot, this terroir is also capable of producing over-ripe wines. In 2007, the botrytis developed at the beginning of October with enough intensity that we were able to make, for the first time, a selection of Grains Nobles in addition to this wine. This wine is therefore the result of a slightly healthier selection, but still very ripe, giving birth to a powerful wine.
