Tasted on Nov 6, 2020 by James Suckling : "A unique dry Riesling. Stunning notes of banana, mirabelle plum, spice, pastry and sea salt. Super concentrated and elegant, it has a level of quality very rare in the 2018 vintage. I love the way the silky finish caresses the palate. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Drink it or keep it."

Rangen de Thann is the southernmost vineyard in Alsace. In his book "Where Alsatian wine matures" Henry Riegert writes: "the wines that mature on the hillside of the Rangen have been among the most famous vintages of the whole country since the Middle Ages!

The Grand Cru du Rangen is located at the end of the valley, overlooking the river Thur at its foot and the town of Thann.
