Pinot Gris Roche Calcaire 2020 - Zind-Humbrecht
Wine from the Zind-Humbecht estate
Sweetness index on the palate: 1 (technically dry or dry tasting wine)
Average age of the vines: 30 years
Terroir : Muschelkalk limestone and marl sandstone
Description: All the Pinot-Gris vineyards located on a limestone geology at the Domaine are in fact on specific locations (Clos Windsbuhl, Clos Jebsal, Heimbourg and Rotenberg).
Tasting : Light straw yellow colour. The nose is well marked by the great pedigree of the vineyards from which it comes, delivering complex fruit aromas (peach, nectarine, quince...) as well as an underlying minerality. The aromatic expression is already well present and will continue to open up with time. The 2019 Roche Calcaire has a beautiful silky mouthfeel and shows great energy. The ripe, racy acidity gives a harmonious balance and makes the wine taste quite dry and delicate on the finish.
