Corton Grand Cru 1985 - Clos de la Vigne au Saint - Louis Latour
From the estate
The first written mention of the vineyard was in the registers of the Chapitre de Saulieu in 1375. This vineyard has a long history with the Latour family since it was already, at the beginning of the 19th century, the property of Anne Michelin, the great-great-grandmother of Louis-Fabrice Latour's father. Since then it has been inherited by successive generations of Latour. On the hillside of Corton, this vineyard is perfectly south-facing at the base of the slope, on an outcrop of bedrock. It is on this soil rich in marl and of a very red colour that the wines are enriched with their distinct aromas. This wine possesses the elegance one expects from a Grand Cru of the Cote d'Or
